laughing in the rain, our skin glows,
and the laughter glows, and the puddles
only this afternoon there were none
it used to be a quieter time, all the time
but time never used to be quite like this
it never figured like this, tactless water
only this afternoon, overcast and windy
the sky, water never tasted any better, but
when it rolls down your skin, and my skin
and from your skin down to my skin and
down mine to yours, water was inspired
and I was inspired, and the world, inspired
tired, I’d heard, my voice sounding washed-out
and your voice too, washed-out, ill acquired
as if hadn’t been quite the same to begin with
to begin with a beginning, I fail to begin with
a beginning, ’twas a sheer pleasure to begin without
without the beginning, eternally inspired, deeply desired
what had been desired has found home, in the rain
tracing pink floyd on our glowing skin, again,
and again, and again, and the tactless water,
and the sensual shower, and a sweet refrain
touch, no, stay, go, hold, slow, hi, goodbye…
