Through the open window wide
Said a dream to the night
Pour a gentle gentle breeze
In the stream of my sleep
Queer fishes in darkness deep
However blue, I wish to keep.
Tears of gods, tears of gold
Tears I hold are tears too bold
Tears I simply dare not weep
Tears I dare, do wash with care my
Need to count thy countless sheep.
Through the open window wide
I made a wish to the night
Pour a gentle gentle dream
In the stream of my life.
What a lovely writer you are!! I love when I find something I could read and read again! 🙂
Thank you Maureen! I like coming back to this one too. In fact last few days I’ve been singing it under my breath…
Oh how nice of you to share that with me! and you are very welcome! 🙂
