Desire my Darling

I don’t understand this place. The madness softly subsides… what am I left feeling instead… abandonment. It is as if my muse has said her last goodbye. She flies away to a distant land and I am left alone on my ship floating cheerlessly in the middle of this endless sea. There is no wind, nor a single cloud I can stretch my arms towards. The fire burns low.
I do have the fading company of her wild scent that lingers on, but not for too long… it’s calling out to me… I listen hopefully… nothing… there is emptiness where poetry would whisper into my ear and I would sing of our sweet desire… If you would voice these words for me, I would feel alive again… just whisper… once again to the glory of our sweet desire, once again to your sweeter glory, my favorite story…
