On a fairly smooth window stool
…a very well withered cedar plank
I rest my head, cheek first, I drool,
staring eyes, wide open and blank
“a thinking mind, is nobody’s fool”
“what durable words!” I think and I thank
the wise man, whose head was amply cool
melting words, that I could drink and I drank
But then… well… you know… some drinks tell otherwise…
otherwise… the other wise man… intoxicating words…
words that I could drink… so I drank…
Thus,
I rest my head, cheek first and drool,
staring eyes, wide open and blank…
What intoxicating beverages!
this is one that needs to be read out loud for all to hear! what a feeling! 🙂
It does read well… thanks Maureen. 🙂
