Dancing maiden of the morning sun
Sliding up her sensual form, behold
The tender day-bringer has just begun
his journey over the land of gold.
Alas! The realization of momentariness
Creeps up, a hungry beast on it’s prey
and the insatiable desire to harness
wild hoses, this moment of this day.
When the day is ripe, no more you shall be
But I’d rather, my love, you dance forever
So I catch this moment in a virtual eternity
And this is all this poor poet can ever give her…
The day-bringer and his grim demystifying
xcpt for but twice a day, Once in his cradle
He’s a mystic, and just before he’s dying,
the young romantic’s heart he does kindle…
This is quite lovely. Great imagery.
